7th Inning Stretch

We've never seen a quail lie down on its side, stretch out his legs and just lie there. After about a half a minute or so he got up and continued with his pecking and scratching for fallen seeds from the feeders. Normally the quail come to feed in pairs or a group but he was all alone. Having this strange habit of his I don't think he has many friends.
"Hide, here comes Earl."

  5. I like Earl and he would be my buddy. I've never seen quail but I'm loving his feathers. be sure to feed him well, he seems a bit lonely. no, I haven't yet gotten a polarizing filter. I've checked them out a bit on-line, but find them to be a bit on the costly side, and what brand to buy has me confused. when that happens I do nothing. Sinbad is stingy with is fur for smelling? what a guy. Daisey knows she hasn't a chance against my nose.

  6. For a second there I thought it was another snake type of thing...hahhahah.....
..maybe he's not too bright... or ..maybe the poor guy has bad legs.... they are usually pretty nervous..never mind lying about with legs all stretched out.

  7. How odd! Obviously not a dust bath, so what IS he doing?! Nice shot of whatever it is, anyway.
