The test of an adventure is that when you are in the middle of it, you say to yourself, "Oh, now I've got myself into an awful mess; I wish I were sitting quietly at home." And the sign that something is wrong with you is when you sit quietly at home wishing you were out having lots of adventure. -Thornton Wilder

The nice thing about being confused is you get a chance to notice things a lot better than if you knew where you were going.

Fantasia

Whenever I see mushrooms like this I think of Walt Disney's Fantasia.

I didn't use my Nikon with it's fancy new ($$) macro lens for this photo. Instead I used my little Canon point and click set on the macro setting. I think that will qualify for Lisa's

I'm always on the look-out for mushrooms when walking the nature trails.
    Great photo!

  3. These are splendid! I am addicted to photographing fungus. The canon point and shoot does take good macro shots doesn't it! Re my spider photo, I used my T2i, no macro lens, just manual focus and getting very close to it while on my hands and knees!

  7. This one definitely qualifies for your macro shot this week. It is so cool. We are always looking for interesting mushrooms when we are out in the woods. I will not eat them but I love studying them. By the way I need to tell you that both of those bumper stickers were on MY car. Guess that tells you something about my sense of humor. genie

  11. Hi there - this picture does seem to make a bit of a mockery of the mega-pixel chase we can get caught it.
