The test of an adventure is that when you are in the middle of it, you say to yourself, "Oh, now I've got myself into an awful mess; I wish I were sitting quietly at home." And the sign that something is wrong with you is when you sit quietly at home wishing you were out having lots of adventure. -Thornton Wilder

The nice thing about being confused is you get a chance to notice things a lot better than if you knew where you were going.

Lest we ever forget.

  1. That second one looks like a still from "Dances With Wolves!"
My question is: What are we remembering? Being a vet from Desert Storm myself, I love that everyone has their own opinions, because they still CAN! For now. But one gets my goat every time: I think freedom SHOULD be free. There's my 2 cents.

  4. A perfect tribute for 11-11-11.
    Thanks for sharing.
You asked about the Manzanita. I don't know its name but its been growing in a huge pot since we moved here 4 1/2 years ago. The bark is dark and curly. This time of year it blooms with the bell flowers like crazy and the hummingbirds love it. At the same time there are about 8 of those balls hanging in various spots on the tree. It seems strange to have both tings going on at the same time...who knows???
