The test of an adventure is that when you are in the middle of it, you say to yourself, "Oh, now I've got myself into an awful mess; I wish I were sitting quietly at home." And the sign that something is wrong with you is when you sit quietly at home wishing you were out having lots of adventure. -Thornton Wilder

The nice thing about being confused is you get a chance to notice things a lot better than if you knew where you were going.

Life begins at the end of your comfort zone.

Buzz Off !

I found this handsome Red Shouldered Hawk only because of it's squealing call.

He turned around and started giving me hell for intruding.

Now throughly upset with me, here he is tensed up and ready launch into the air which I unfortunately missed due to the tree branches obscuring the view.

  3. I think you managed to get off some excellent shots. love that blue sky in the background. I see lots of hawks but never know what kind. they're usually sitting zen-like atop electric poles or fence posts. you have an awesome lens. happy day to you John.

  6. Great photos of the hawk. I hear them often, but I rarely see them close enough for a good photo.
