Jo Jo Sushi and the Man

As I set up across the street for this photo I could see this man slowly working his way along searching for whatever he could find along the sidewalk and gutter. Photo #4 he just found something and #5 he puts it in his coat pocket. I let him walk through the pictures wondering what I would get. People of the night I call them. Most all have a backpack on. First instinct is to think they are the homeless but that may not always be the case. Maybe they just can't sleep...like me.

  1. i like how you shot these - he's almost a ghost or phantom.

  2. Good thing I had your narrative because he's awfully dark. I've got a cousin like that, sleeps all day and up all night.

  4. It would be cool to go out to take pictures the same way you do when I can't sleep.
I like the misterious atmosphere in these shots. ;-)

  5. Geat shots of the street at night. It does make me wonder why people are out at night when they could be home asleep.:) But hey! If you can't sleep, it's a great time to take photos of the city lights.

  7. Wonderful images to see... My problem John is that I sleep like a log at night..
I must start setting the alarm a bit earlier..

  8. I'm really liking your night time photography. Your sleeplessness is my gain. The man is a mystery of the night, one among many. There way is more to the difference between night and day than simply light versus darkness. The empty streets are a sight to behold as you've so beautifully captured in your final shot. How's the Sushi at Jo Jo?
happy day to you and Sinbad.

  10. You are dedicated to perfecting the night photography. For now, I'll stick to daylight and birds.
