The test of an adventure is that when you are in the middle of it, you say to yourself, "Oh, now I've got myself into an awful mess; I wish I were sitting quietly at home." And the sign that something is wrong with you is when you sit quietly at home wishing you were out having lots of adventure. -Thornton Wilder

The nice thing about being confused is you get a chance to notice things a lot better than if you knew where you were going.

Life begins at the end of your comfort zone.

Weekend Reflections

The Black-necked Stilts were waaay too far away to get nice clarity with the camera equiptment I have based on my fixed limited income, but when it is reflections in the water it doesn't matter...does it?

  1. oh, these are awesome! i love these colorful, quirky birds!

  2. Nope, doesn't matter. Only thing that matters is if you had a fun time shooting and if you like it. It is only a bonus if others like it too. My fav is the third one with the interesting pattern created by this guy's legs and reflection. Glad to have a minute or two to visit today. Hope you have a great weekend.

  3. Great pictures John, there's not much wrong with your camera equipment.

  4. I too share your frustrations with limited camera gear sometimes. I'd love a long lens but they are so expensive. Never mind, you got some great shots here of this attractive bird. The third one especially is a great composition.

  5. Wonderful images of a lovely bird..
A rarity over here but I have seen Blach-winged Stilts on my patch although not for a few years..

  6. I love reflections, what a beautiful bird!
Have a good weekend John! ;-)

  7. you don't need fancy equipment when you've got a great eye
    these shots are wonderful
I love this funny little guy
    his red legs are fantastic

  8. Nicely composed shots, well done:)

  9. excellent reflections & shots... that 1st one is about as close to a 'mirror image' as you can get! =)

  10. gorgeous reflections... my kind of shots!
