Macro Monday

I was lying down in a meadow on a sloping hillside taking pictures of tiny little flowers and wondering about if I would be picking up any ticks or other little unwanted creatures in my clothing. My thoughts then turned to the task of getting back up on my feet, which really is the only physically demanding part of macro photography for me. As I rolled over I noticed this grass seed pod back lit by the sunlight and put off getting up a little bit longer. Soon I will be more concerned about these little seeds and burrs getting into my shoes and socks more so than ticks and whatever else.

  3. Help me Rhonda...I’ve fallen and I can’t get up. I can just see you know. I think if you all and Bud and I went out hiking it would be a disaster waiting to happen :-)
Well, you figured it out. Yep, LOTS of free time along with keeping them silent and doing their assignments.I end up having to teach some of them, but try to avoid that is at all possible. Some days are awful....certain mixes about kill me. Today I have had 3 - 8th grade males all day, but the ring leader is in the office...thank goodness. Now you will understand why I pay 20.00 a month to Verizon to turn the iPhone into a “hot spot” for the internet. Everything is blocked on the school computers so I bring my own and pay the 20 bucks gladly. It has been a lifesaver. Your grass is drop dead gorgeous. That blue sky is just sosososo blue. I never know what king of weather we are having outside because I do not see outside. Glad you turned over and caught that great light shining through.

  6. The backlighting and highlights on the seed pod are great, but it's that beautiful blue background that does it for me.

  7. Beautiful shot! Just yesterday, I was down on the ground at the botanical gardens for some macro shots of water drops on Lamb's Ear, and was REALLY glad hubby was tehre to help me up so I didn't have to do the "roll-over" trick! I was more concerned with wet clothing than bugs and such...at least now that is the concern!

  8. Nice photo of the sun on the seed pod. The seeds won't be so pretty when they're stuck in your socks, though!

  9. made me laugh I can well imagine the moment; great shot though; well worth, not a tick, but a burr in your socks maybe. Thanks for sharing your great shot; the blue background is so intense, a great contrast to the textural qualities of the seedhead
