Fungi For Macro Monday

I think of starfish I have seen in the tidepools off our coast when I view this mushroom.

This is interesting in that the moss grows only to a certain distance from the fungi as if the fungi is emitting some sort of chemical barrier or "force field".

  5. That first red mushroom does look more suited for an underwater scene doesn't it. Interesting observation re the mosses too, and the final photo looks similar to an underwater sea-snail. Lovely photos John!

  8. That red one is a new one on me...I have seen pinkish and reddish ones...but that one is RED! I love these photos!
