Homegrown

So I traveled over a thousand miles to the desert and back in search for cactus in bloom, finding very little.
I could have just as well stayed home and enjoyed my own cactus blooming.

These are all straight out of the camera, done with my trusty little Canon point & click.

  3. There is no need to go to the desert for blooming things, John!! You have a gorgeous collection of plants there at home! Simply stunning blooms!

  6. Beautiful show of cacti. Used to grow cacti myself, though in our climate you need a good south-facing window to get them to flower.

  7. More beautiful and amazing cactus flowers. I am still dumbfounded. Your blooms are as pretty as any you drove out to see. Your first shot is amazing. Do you cut the flower blooms and put them in your house or just leave them on the plants? There is nothing like home sweet home. Glad you made it back safe and sound. genie

  9. Oh but isn't the thrill in the chase? You didn't know until the end that it wasn't going to happen. Am sure you had a great time searching though John. Your cactus' in bloom look fantastic; what fun to see them get to this point. Little point and clicks do it pretty darn good don't they?!
