Yesterday I sat on the sidelines to watch a mountain bike race at my next door State Park Annadel. Can you imagine riding a tandem bicycle over 26 miles of rough up and down mountainous terrain?
I have a hard enough time just getting myself over...half that distance.

I admire their tenacity!
I feel tired just be looking at the pics !
I have never cycled on a tandem, it looks so strange to me, not to be able to drive yourself, but to have a back in front of you.
I always make the joke "I get tired just driving 26 miles!" Well that's not really true, but no way could I bike that. Nope.
I couldn't do it on such a rough terrain. I rather do it on my spinning bike :-) But this must be a tough race, and I'm sure you had fun watching!
I wish I was as fit as them!
i'd think that would be quite taxing for the person in front - and quite nerve-wracking for the person in back. :)
Half way though and I would be on the ground and the person in front would wonder why the bike was easier to maneuver.
Wonderful to see...
You'd have to be very fond of someone to spend twenty-six miles looking at their......
Maybe it's easier with 2 pedaling....not.

I always thought mountain bikers were mad but this is doubly so.
