The test of an adventure is that when you are in the middle of it, you say to yourself, "Oh, now I've got myself into an awful mess; I wish I were sitting quietly at home." And the sign that something is wrong with you is when you sit quietly at home wishing you were out having lots of adventure. -Thornton Wilder

The nice thing about being confused is you get a chance to notice things a lot better than if you knew where you were going.

Life begins at the end of your comfort zone.

Back in the Saddle Again on Monday Mural

Collinsville, Oklahoma

I'm just wondering what the cowboy was saying, that has been painted over.
Judging by the expression on his face I'd say, "Oh my butt is sore".

..this is the opposite of graffiti almost. What mind chooses to simply isolate the meaning of the artwork?

I agree. His face is expressing pain.

It must have been something bad, but now everybody can make his own interpretation. Yours is probably right.

I was thinking, "Home on the range, my Aunt Fanny. I'd rather be home doing a sudoku." But that probably wouldn't fit in the balloon. The texture of the bricks helps to create an old photo look to the mural. Thanks for contributing to this week's Monday Mural.

Great mural today! My first thought before I scrolled down was "What did he say?" Maybe that was the purpose behind painting it over. Certainly gave everyone here something to ponder.

this is one of the best murals I've ever seen. I wonder why the thought cloud was painted over - obscene thoughts perhaps? kiss little orange furball for me. happy day to you both.

The shape of his hat makes me think it is really old. Husband has been watching silent movies, and that is what it reminds me of...
