The test of an adventure is that when you are in the middle of it, you say to yourself, "Oh, now I've got myself into an awful mess; I wish I were sitting quietly at home." And the sign that something is wrong with you is when you sit quietly at home wishing you were out having lots of adventure. -Thornton Wilder

The nice thing about being confused is you get a chance to notice things a lot better than if you knew where you were going.

Life begins at the end of your comfort zone.

5 cent Monday Mural

Jamesport, Missouri

I tried to find a mural in my collection that I could in someway connect to yesterday's footballness in New Orleans (Superbowl) and this is the best I could come up with, although I suspect more beer was sold than soda pop.

This was a very nicely done mural in the small town of Jamesport, most likely a re-do of an ad that once adorned this wall.

  3. A classic. I wonder if this was hand painted. It almost looks a little too perfect, if you know what I mean.

  4. I'm pretty sure Cokes were up to 10 cents by the time I became one of their better customers. Always good to find stuff "older" than us, isn't it?

  7. Proof that since way back when, Coke has trained us to think of them through their consistent use of the same font and color. For some reason it pleases me that they continue to use these two elements after a century or more of advertising. Can't say that for their competitors. Thanks for contributing to this week's Monday Mural.
