The test of an adventure is that when you are in the middle of it, you say to yourself, "Oh, now I've got myself into an awful mess; I wish I were sitting quietly at home." And the sign that something is wrong with you is when you sit quietly at home wishing you were out having lots of adventure. -Thornton Wilder

The nice thing about being confused is you get a chance to notice things a lot better than if you knew where you were going.

Ozone Bake Sale

Ozone, Arkansas

There was something amusing to me about this scene which caused me to take the picture.  Months later I still look at it but cannot figure out what it is about it that is ...well, amusing.  Maybe it is just the name of the town, that name right along with "Baptist Church", yard and bake sale for missions, I don't know.  Anyway, here it is and I am now done with Arkansas.

I let slip by yesterday's anniversary of the Day the Music Died.  Click here if you would like to revisit my post of the place where Buddy Holly, Ritchie Valens and J.P. "Big Bopper" Richardson died 54 years ago.

  1. some things just strike us as weird.

i like their big bell, though.

  2. I can see the name being me, the type of sign does not fit with the church and that bell...the sign looks like it belongs at some store.
