The test of an adventure is that when you are in the middle of it, you say to yourself, "Oh, now I've got myself into an awful mess; I wish I were sitting quietly at home." And the sign that something is wrong with you is when you sit quietly at home wishing you were out having lots of adventure. -Thornton Wilder

The nice thing about being confused is you get a chance to notice things a lot better than if you knew where you were going.

Life begins at the end of your comfort zone.

What is This?

"Surprise, surprise!" - Gomer Pyle U.S.M.C.

Despite the drought conditions we are having, these guys found it in themselves to sprout forth.
The first of this season.

Then this little fellow decided to photobomb my close-up.

  1. Straight out of the wood. I like it.

  2. You must have kneeled very deep for this photo. But the result is good!

  3. I don't think I've seen any this year yet. Just wondering how the wildflowers are going to react--I'm assuming we will get some rain eventually.

  4. so cute. yup, here in texas, we don't usually get to see many of those.

  5. Mushrooms are will be a long while before we seen any of these.

  6. They must like the warmth or they wanted a suntan.

  7. I've seen some old oyster mushrooms on Mt. Tam, but no new ones like these.
