The test of an adventure is that when you are in the middle of it, you say to yourself, "Oh, now I've got myself into an awful mess; I wish I were sitting quietly at home." And the sign that something is wrong with you is when you sit quietly at home wishing you were out having lots of adventure. -Thornton Wilder

The nice thing about being confused is you get a chance to notice things a lot better than if you knew where you were going.

Life begins at the end of your comfort zone.

I See You

This cutie was about 4 inches (10 cm) long and was peaking out at me with one eye.

This little guy just would not hold still.  I guess he didn't want his picture taken.

It was wonderful to see Ledson Marsh filled with water once again.
You can see what it looked like the last time I was there.
The water logged marsh extends all the way to the trees in the distance.
Soon it will all be green once more.

  1. neat pics John, and I was hoping you were going to throw in a couple of water-birds too .....

  2. Where would we be without water, nature needs it.

  3. I'll leave to explore that place. I know there's a snake in there somewhere.

  4. i like the floral lichen on the rock at the end! pretty!

  5. The first picture is of a salamander, right? I just don't get aquainted with critters like this!

  6. That first critter is unusual looking. I've never seen one like that.
My lizards never want to hold still, either.

  7. Indeed! We here in California are more than happy to see the water!
