The test of an adventure is that when you are in the middle of it, you say to yourself, "Oh, now I've got myself into an awful mess; I wish I were sitting quietly at home." And the sign that something is wrong with you is when you sit quietly at home wishing you were out having lots of adventure. -Thornton Wilder

The nice thing about being confused is you get a chance to notice things a lot better than if you knew where you were going.

Ominous Skies

East of Springfield Illinois

It started out not so bad of a day but the further west we traveled the worse it got.

We called it a day early in Beardstown, about the only place relatively safe as there were tornado warnings in all the counties around us.  Yes, this California couple had uneasy afternoon and night.
No big deal for the locals though.

  5. No big deal for the locals but their houses weren't on wheels and weighing less than a few thousand pounds. Anyway, nice shots. I love storm photos.

  6. Yup, I think that would have made me uneasy too. Tornados seem very scary to me. Of course those in the mid west think our earthquakes are pretty scary too.
    Glad you are safe.
