The test of an adventure is that when you are in the middle of it, you say to yourself, "Oh, now I've got myself into an awful mess; I wish I were sitting quietly at home." And the sign that something is wrong with you is when you sit quietly at home wishing you were out having lots of adventure. -Thornton Wilder

The nice thing about being confused is you get a chance to notice things a lot better than if you knew where you were going.

Life begins at the end of your comfort zone.

Please Drive Slow in the Everglades

Everglades, Florida

  1. If I read this its time that in Florida eco-ducts are being made. Bridges special made for animals to cross save a highway ( Here in the Netherlands the landscape is crossing also on these bridges so that the animals don't have a bridge impression.) Special for roads where a lot of animals are killed its a kind of solution.

  2. That's a great idea above, might be hard in flat, swampy Florida though? That's a lot of dirt and vegetation to try to move/plant. Don't know, haven't been there yet, but all the pics I"ve seen of panthers in the road have looked incredibly flat. I've read it's a problem keeping them off the road because people "bait" them to come out too and then they're habituated to hanging out roadside.

  3. That's a lot of panthers being killed by motorists!

I still haven't figured out why people travel so fast. They haven't a clue what they are missing as they rush by.

  4. It would be wonderful if you got to see one.
