The test of an adventure is that when you are in the middle of it, you say to yourself, "Oh, now I've got myself into an awful mess; I wish I were sitting quietly at home." And the sign that something is wrong with you is when you sit quietly at home wishing you were out having lots of adventure. -Thornton Wilder

The nice thing about being confused is you get a chance to notice things a lot better than if you knew where you were going.

Life begins at the end of your comfort zone.

Mushrooms 15

These were so cute (that's the first word that came to my mind) that I felt they deserved a post all to their own.  I took a lot of shots of these trying to get a few that were good enough to share.

And a cluster on a nearby tree...or maybe the other side, I forget.

  1. Just little lamps. Perhaps they give a bit light in the dark.

  2. They look so fragile at that robust tree.

  3. Amazing, colorful decorations in the forest.
They definitely are "cute" little lampshades.....

  4. They do look like tiny umbrellas.

  5. John, I have been looking but not commenting cause I feel like I say the same thing over and over. I have to say that i have never seen any like this on a tree...I must say that I have really enjoyed all the photos.

  6. wow these are beautiful. I've never seen a mushroom growing out of a tree like this.
