The test of an adventure is that when you are in the middle of it, you say to yourself, "Oh, now I've got myself into an awful mess; I wish I were sitting quietly at home." And the sign that something is wrong with you is when you sit quietly at home wishing you were out having lots of adventure. -Thornton Wilder

The nice thing about being confused is you get a chance to notice things a lot better than if you knew where you were going.

Life begins at the end of your comfort zone.

From the Archives - Missouri, 2012

A nice place to live

a nice way to travel

and a nice size town.

My great grandfather lived here and owned the only store in town.
After him it became a short-lived furniture store then storage for who ever owns it now.

  1. This area looks very quiet and peaceful, even a coach on the road, as if time has stood still. How special you found a house from your ancestors.

  2. A real dive in memory lane. Like the rural quietness here and of course the landscape of the first shot.

  3. Missouri looks like a lovely place to live so I wonder what made you or you parents move west!

  4. How cool is that storefront. Hope it last a couple more generations. Love that 1st shot. Looks like home to me.

  5. oh, simpler times and slow-moving days!

  6. Cool memory, John! Missouri is an interesting place.
    Have a Beautiful Day!
    Peace :)

  7. I hate when local stores close up for the image in B&W, and I love that first shot looking down the road.
