The test of an adventure is that when you are in the middle of it, you say to yourself, "Oh, now I've got myself into an awful mess; I wish I were sitting quietly at home." And the sign that something is wrong with you is when you sit quietly at home wishing you were out having lots of adventure. -Thornton Wilder

The nice thing about being confused is you get a chance to notice things a lot better than if you knew where you were going.

Life begins at the end of your comfort zone.

Timing is Important

I was there too early to catch this Agave in bloom.
It probably is right now though.

So here are some more cacti flowering.

But wait, elsewhere later on I did find one flowering.

  1. That Agave has a huge stalk for a flower, interesting.

  2. Great shots. Pity that the flowers are only for such a short time.

  3. amazing what desert plants can do.

  4. They sure have a beauty all their own...

  5. Never seen anything like this, John.
    Thanks for the treat!
    Have a Beautiful Day!!
    Peace :)

  6. You are right John (about your comment on my blog). The dessert is a beautiful place, especially in the spring.

  7. Story of my life: right place, wrong time; right time, wrong place!
