The test of an adventure is that when you are in the middle of it, you say to yourself, "Oh, now I've got myself into an awful mess; I wish I were sitting quietly at home." And the sign that something is wrong with you is when you sit quietly at home wishing you were out having lots of adventure. -Thornton Wilder

The nice thing about being confused is you get a chance to notice things a lot better than if you knew where you were going.

Dried Mud

Yesterday was sand, today something different.

Only once was I in the desert and witnessed a flash flood.
That was long long ago, before the age of digital cameras and thus I have no pictures.

  2. really cool, but it reminds me of when my pond gets really low (which is not the case this year, thankfully.)

  3. When those droughts hit many areas, that pattern will appear, and it is really sad. Not so much for this year in Texas....lots of unusual rain.

  5. Remarkable patterns - strange what water and sand can form.
