The test of an adventure is that when you are in the middle of it, you say to yourself, "Oh, now I've got myself into an awful mess; I wish I were sitting quietly at home." And the sign that something is wrong with you is when you sit quietly at home wishing you were out having lots of adventure. -Thornton Wilder

The nice thing about being confused is you get a chance to notice things a lot better than if you knew where you were going.

Life begins at the end of your comfort zone.

Happy Independence Day America

Since I'm currently re-visiting photos from Bodie Ghost Town, this picture of the entrance had the old Stars and Stripes blowing in the high mountain wind of the area.
That's the best I could do for my 4th of July recognition this year.

  1. Great little town but it looks very uninhabitable by the look of the bare landscape. When was decided to make it a state park.

  6. Now I know where this is. I drove past it once and wanted to stop and take pictures. But I was on my way home for my dad's funeral services.
