The test of an adventure is that when you are in the middle of it, you say to yourself, "Oh, now I've got myself into an awful mess; I wish I were sitting quietly at home." And the sign that something is wrong with you is when you sit quietly at home wishing you were out having lots of adventure. -Thornton Wilder

The nice thing about being confused is you get a chance to notice things a lot better than if you knew where you were going.

Life begins at the end of your comfort zone.

Typical Scene in Bodie

This was a hard life, no doubt about it.

The cold for me would be the worst aspect of living here.

  1. Its a question of greed, one of the greatest drives for mankind on the moment and not the best one but it made it possible to withstand all the trouble.

  2. I can hear the blowing ice cold wind over the prairies.

  3. It makes me wonder why someone would live there.

  4. I think you would be cold all winter and then in summer you couldn't escape the heat! What a life it must have been.
