The test of an adventure is that when you are in the middle of it, you say to yourself, "Oh, now I've got myself into an awful mess; I wish I were sitting quietly at home." And the sign that something is wrong with you is when you sit quietly at home wishing you were out having lots of adventure. -Thornton Wilder

The nice thing about being confused is you get a chance to notice things a lot better than if you knew where you were going.

Life begins at the end of your comfort zone.

The Bodie Motel

My room for the night.
What?  No coffee maker!  I'm not staying there again.
(Just kidding.  Not a motel)

This was original cotton material stuffed between the windows to keep out the cold blowing wind.
It must have been placed in there nearly 100 years ago.

  1. That mattress looks very messy, yek.

  2. I remember stuffing things around the windows in the old farm house to keep the wind and snow out in the winter.

  3. Scary mattress! Yikes. It looks contagious. ;)

  4. I have draft stoppers for a couple of my doors for those really cold winter days!

  5. Fun trip through Bodie. I liked the accidental selfie a few posts back too.

  6. That mattress has seen better days.

  7. This looks like some of the places Bud stays when he is at one of his runs. We are all still alive and he is running as usual. Has had some hip problems, but they seem to be improving. Still running off road ultras, halfs, and full marathons. He is nuts!!! (:-)
