The test of an adventure is that when you are in the middle of it, you say to yourself, "Oh, now I've got myself into an awful mess; I wish I were sitting quietly at home." And the sign that something is wrong with you is when you sit quietly at home wishing you were out having lots of adventure. -Thornton Wilder

The nice thing about being confused is you get a chance to notice things a lot better than if you knew where you were going.

Life begins at the end of your comfort zone.

Twisted Manzanita

It seems this manzanita bush couldn't decide which direction to grow.
I wonder if early on in its life a rock was on top of it and it grew out from beneath it.
The rock and since moved on.

  3. So that's what "manzanita" looks like; I've read the word so many times in books and had realised from context that it was a tree, bush or shrub of some kind but had never seen a photo of one - till today.

  4. Never seen a tree like this before, and the two tone colour makes it very appealing.
