Dry is not good for mushroom!I was pretty happy to see the bird, as I got some pictures of it - at that time I though it was a Whimbrel, and I had not seen one in ages and had never got any pictures. Yes mushrooms love a wet surrounding, that can be the reason indeed. But they do their best I see.
Oh, I didn't realize you are still experiencing drought. Hope it rains soon so you can find more fungi!

I have always loved to see mushrooms and all the various shapes and colors they come in.
Ohh! I haven't seen much fungi lately either, though I'm not really in the best area for them.
