Time to Leave

Our time in the Mojave National Preserve draws to an end.
Before we go, one last flower, my favorite, the blossom of the Beavertail Cactus.

Maybe one more morning walkabout and then

Sinbad leads the way back to our home away from home,

where we begin the long drive back to where we started our journey.

  1. Good name for what I know as an Opuntia. Fascinating flower as always. Love the low shots of the landscape and the road but Sinbad as always steels the show. Like it very much.

  2. Sinbad is a faithful companion, leads you to your home, so sweet. That road looks rather rough, no asfalt or concrete as we have here.

  3. Beautiful flower. Sinbad looks smart. He guides you to home...

  4. Excelentes e belas fotografias.
Um abraço e bom fim de semana.

  5. Love the flower. Good that Sinbad knows where home is

  6. gorgeous pink bloom. what a sweet post.

  7. Ah, the famous Homing Cat.
Well worth going for one last walkabout to find such a stunning flower.

  8. This kind of makes me sad.
    The long road back.
Looking forward to more adventures from "Sinbad".

  9. That's a beautiful cactus flower. I'm impressed by how well Sinbad does on a leash.

  10. I think I need to get one of those cat lead things!

  11. I know it is a bit sad to have to leave an area you so love, but on the other hand it will be nice for you to get back to home base Love the shot of the road. No interstates in that area. Hope you have a non-eventful trip back.

  12. Been scrolling through your posts John. Some great desert photos, especially some of the beautiful Cactus flowers.
