The test of an adventure is that when you are in the middle of it, you say to yourself, "Oh, now I've got myself into an awful mess; I wish I were sitting quietly at home." And the sign that something is wrong with you is when you sit quietly at home wishing you were out having lots of adventure. -Thornton Wilder

The nice thing about being confused is you get a chance to notice things a lot better than if you knew where you were going.

Life begins at the end of your comfort zone.

Day 5

On today's walked I struck out in a different direction across the desert.
Meet Mr. Lucky.
The baby rattlesnake was curled up against that curved twig behind him just sunning himself until I came along.  Look how close I stepped to him.  A foot closer and I'd have squashed him!
Naturally he decided to move once I set up to take his picture.  So cute!

  1. Real adventure. Real life. Real good post

  2. I didn't even see it!

AaaaaaiiEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!! Yeah, that's what I think of that rattlesnake!

  3. I'm with Sandi. Baby snake or no baby snake.
