A Home in the Forest

Tres Piedras
NW of Taos, New Mexico

Well, we can't live on the road forever.  I have to think of the future.  So I've been looking everywhere we go.  Now this might be my kind of place.

Just one room.  That's all we need.
I like the skylight.

The door needs to be rehung.
The other panel is to block off the window when we are away for a long time.
That would be in the winter for it will be snowed in then.
I'd be in the desert for the winters.

The one window facing south.
With that boarded up animals cannot get in.

The back.

The view from the front.
No neighbors in sight.

 A panoramic view.

The reality of it is that it would be a lot of work to survive living like this.

  1. A lot of work, but at least cleaning the windows would be easily accomplished.

  2. It would be hard to survive in a cabin like that, but someone cut and shaped the logs, built the cabin and probably lived in it. And I see a chimney so there could be heat. And a log outhouse behind the cabin. But is that a bucket in the corner for an inside loo?

  3. It sure would, I couldn't do it!
