This is seaweed, or kelp as it is otherwise known. Last time I showed kelp in the sand some did not know what it was so this time I thought best to say in advance.

Hmm, to think I use to go to the beach all the time when we lived in California and never once paid attention to the kelp! I still would'nt have guess what it was, thanks for the info.
HI John...I know a kelp when I "sea" one ..ya I know ; } living in Maine spending time at the beach it ends up topping of a sand castle or two!! Always amazed me how one little item on the beach could make such great designs with the sand and tide!! Wonderful shot!! Grace
