There were other types of mushrooms near the Oyster bed. It is difficult for me to convey their size so hopefully by comparing them to the surrounding leaves, pine needles and moss fronds you can get an idea.
The macro lens is the trickiest of my lenses to use.
Only with continued practice will I learn to use it well.
These little guys are probably three to four times the size of the head of a pin.
Maybe about the size of a BB for a BB gun.
These flies enjoy roosting on the mushrooms and don't seem to mind my presence.
It is as if they are on a mushroom high and oblivious to everything around them.
He kind of looks to be sitting on a snowy slope with evergreens hanging low.

You made some really beautiful pictures. I can almost see the tiny dwarfs sitting under their roofs.
They really are beautiful photos. Those mushrooms look like something out of a storybook.
loved your title and your 'snow bunny' fly. :)
Hi John...Amazing things that pop up out of no where it seems, those Moreshrooms ; )
I think some tiny fairies should be sliding on the snow slope!!
Love the first one!!

The capture with the fly is my favourite!!
DD the biologist says that is club moss, not evergreen. She gave me the same correction...
I hope this isn't the start of a love affair with fungi.
delightful captures John and the finale is almost a one-in-a-million. It does indeed look like the snowy description
