Jamesport, Missouri
I tried to find a mural in my collection that I could in someway connect to yesterday's footballness in New Orleans (Superbowl) and this is the best I could come up with, although I suspect more beer was sold than soda pop.
This was a very nicely done mural in the small town of Jamesport, most likely a re-do of an ad that once adorned this wall.

Hi John...The old sign, roadside billboards and murals where a real work of art, so much more so then any today!!
Thanks for sharing this!!

A beautiful piece of history!
A classic. I wonder if this was hand painted. It almost looks a little too perfect, if you know what I mean.
I'm pretty sure Cokes were up to 10 cents by the time I became one of their better customers. Always good to find stuff "older" than us, isn't it?
It is so well done...glad you posted it.
That's a nice one.
...will that name ever fade into oblivion?? Hardly I'd say.
Proof that since way back when, Coke has trained us to think of them through their consistent use of the same font and color. For some reason it pleases me that they continue to use these two elements after a century or more of advertising. Can't say that for their competitors. Thanks for contributing to this week's Monday Mural.
I'm old enough to have experienced the 5¢ coke. Thanks for the memories.
Very attractive reminder of times past.
