A Long Monday Mural

Plains, Kansas

This mural is the longest I had come upon during our Great Plains Tour.  Sadly it is on a side street of this small town, hidden in an alleyway one drives in to access the drive-up window of the neighboring bank.  If you didn't have to go to the bank you would probably not see this really great piece.

From left to right -

Here I am backed up to the bank's drive-up window

Good thing you have money or else you would have never discovered the mural:-) They are a great display of the hard working farming people that worked the land.

depicting the great farming days of yesteryear. Now the poor guys are being shut down because everything is bought overseas instead of buying off our local guys; sad.

A wonderful find. Well executed with a loving feel to it. Makes me wonder how many acres are still in the hands of small family farms versus Agribusiness. It was good luck you needed to access the ATM. Thanks for contributing to this week's Monday Mural.
