Amarillo, Texas
The view from the highway. "That's it?"
For as well known this "attraction" is I was surprised it amounted to no more than this. Carhenge in Alliance, Nebraska is way more impressive. Click here to view that post. By the way, my laptop has some sort of bug in it so please ignore all those highlighted words in my posts. I don't do that and they only take you to some sort of advertising thing. If anyone knows how I can rid the blog of that let me know.
On the other side of Amarillo someone mocked Cadillac Ranch with their version known as
VW Slug Bug Ranch. Well done, I say.
It was a dreary freezing cold day with unforgiving winds blowing across the plains.
Here's hoping for some sunshine as we move on into Oklahoma today.

the only highlighted word i saw in this post was your reference to the nebraska post you did. otherwise, it is clean on my end.
i like both 'ranch' scenes. :)
I get your point, the previous "car monument" you saw was much more impressive. These ones look like they are dropped from an airplane and stucked into the ground. But it is interesting to see what you can do with old cars.
I've only seen this in magazines. Nice shots.
Looks like the taggers have descended on both places.
Having a big blog catch up here. Glad to see you're still turning up some wacky stuff around the US. To think that these would all have been somebodies pride and joy at some point.
Crazy!
