Monday Mural

Dawson, Georgia

The R.E. McDowell & Co. Farming Implements brick wall was in such sad shape that the artist took the easy way of doing his mural on seven panels which were attached to the wall.

Notice all the rubble on the ground.  I had no idea where it came from.
Also R.E. McDowell & Company had long since moved on to greener pastures.

easy way to clean up the look of a building, i suppose!

Oh dear, if the rubble was part of the wall, the mural won't last long. I like the way the modes of transportation represent different eras. Makes me wonder what the historic downtown looks like. Thanks for contributing to this week's Monday Mural.

the mural has stood the test of time since its owners have moved on

Nice mural. I wonder how old it is. It's only when you look closely that you can see the panels of the mural.

But historic downtown Dawson still exist or is it in the same state as the wall.

I like the rubble at the bottom it sort of says. From something old comes something new. Really nice.

Hopefully that rubble has been dumped from somewhere else!

I look for and take photos of the old 'ghost' signs on a building so I like the writing that can still be seen.
If the brick is in such bad condition painting on the panels was a good idea in that if the building were to be raised the mural could be saved. At least I think looking at the lower left of the mural it appears to stand out from the wall?
Wonderful find!

That's a nice one!

It's well done even if it isn't painted right on the bricks.

It's like a parade for some kind of festival!
Love it!
