Monday Mural

Dothan, Alabama

I always enjoyed watching old black & white cowboy movies with my grandfather,
although they were not so old back then.
But I do not remember this movie star but then, I was just a little cowboy at the time.

How is it I don't know this cowboy? Thought I knew them all. Your mural has a very modernistic style to it. Amazing discovery. Thanks for contributing to this week's Monday Mural.

I remember the name Johnny Mack Brown and probably saw some of his movies. Its just sort of a memory lapse as to titles of films that I am experiencing. Y'know how that is?

Cheers,
Jo

Quite a tribute, Can't say that I know any of his films though. Will keep an eye out next time I watch a western.

Never heard about him. But it looks a bit like a Johnny Weismuller. I am wondering if the flowers on the skirt of Mack Brown was a real cowboy thing or later made up by Hollywood.

This is a completely unfamiliar name to me, so I looked him up on IMDb and then realized that I never actually watched cowboy movies. I did watch a lot of western tv shows that he wasn't in.

Funny how in that era it was so classic to go from High School football star to movie star. What a much simpler world. Don't know him either, so thank you for the education.

I remember Johnny Mack Brown. Only through old movies on TV, but back in the day. My late husband was a BIG old westerns fan. Neat tribute. MB
