Wow, a Slinky in it's original box. I think the original price tag in the corner showed 99 cents. My inflation calculator shows that 99 cents in 1955 equals $8.37 in 2012 (it doesn't go up to 2013).
Yes I had one, at my grandmother's house. I didn't care for it that much. My fingertips would get sore from the sharp corners of the nuts. I liked my Lincoln Logs better.
A collection of some really nice old bicycles. I prefer mine left unpainted,
with it's natural patina of scuffs, scrapes, dirt and rust and most of these were that way.
And what about these model airplane engines. They are so cool. I never had one.
Finally, I just don't understand the fascination with Hot Wheels cars.

The Slinky, Erector set and the model airplane engines really took «Louis» back to his childhood!
Like you, he has never particularly liked the Hot Wheels, though he even to this day has a large collection of model cars - mostly Packards and Studebakers in 1/43, 1/24 scale.
The fascination with Hot Wheels cars for me was in large part sending them zooming along on their tracks. It was all about seeing what gravity could do.
I would love to have just one Hot Wheel of my first car.
This looks like a great flea market! I remember those erector sets. And the rest too!
