Whenever people get to lamenting the end of certain industries that employ people in a region I always think of the history of transportation. First horses, then the railroad, then cars and finally airplanes. It doesn't mean the loss of jobs but a transition into new skills. Not so much for the mule as he got replaced by tractors, but you get where I was going with that, right? I love murals that depict scenes from old photographs, Happy Monday, John!
I guess it's what we call progress. There are so many interesting murals in this town, I am going to have to see if we can fit it in on our next driving trip.
the old old guy that lives behind our property - across the creek and woods - still buys and sells mules - and keeps WAY too many. he's worked out a temporary deal to graze them on neighboring pastures, but they continue to break out and come over to my next door neighbor - two are out in her pasture right now. they're beautiful. stubborn, yes. :)
If the download from clicking on any of the book images below does not work, go to smashwords.com and input the book title in the search bar. There you can download it for free. DO NOT go to Amazon and buy the book. Amazon forces me to set a price.

Fascinating read!
Great painting!
It does look as if photos have been projected onto the wall!
