Orange Beach, Alabama
Not a pretty fence, just your everyday chain link. But it must have a story.
At one time this was a nice place to park and look out over Perdido Bay along the Gulf, but not anymore. Why would Orange Beach fence off just the parking spots and not the entire parking lot? And just how would one Enter unless they climb the fence, and then for what?
Fishing was my only guess.
But I didn't let this deter me.
I parked there anyway, the rebel that I am, and enjoyed the crayfish sandwich I had bought in town. Very tasty! They don't have these in California.
Tomorrow we will return to the Wright Brothers Memorial near Kittyhawk, North Carolina.
I have a few more sights to share.

Well whatever the reason, the fence means business!! Nice sandwich.
The fence does ruin the view! Yummy sandwich! Enjoy your day!
This sure seems like an odd place for a fence. Sandwish looks yummy.
Definitely a statement, whatever the reason.
I really would love to know the reason for that fence...just so odd.
sounds like a good enough explanation to me. unless the shoreline is unstable and they don't want the weight of cars parking too close to cause further erosion?
thanks for linking!
It does make one wonder.... and it made for a good fences post
I was thinking along the same lines as TWG above John, only because it happens sometimes along our coastline here also. Happy you didn't let this puzzling situation put you off your lunch :)
Guess they just want people to park in the middle of the road.
Yes a strange place for a fence but who knows. Like your sandwich.
The fence does sort of spoil the view. I guess there's a good reason for it. Glad you didn't let it ruin your lunch. :)
I think I won't attempt to enter there! Maybe I can find another place to explore. (After I get a sandwich just like you have.)
There must be a good reason for the fence. Your sandwich looks yummy!!!
Very strange, but I'll bet Tex is right...it must be because there is a danger of some kind. Sandwich looks delish!
Hey John....just another of those darned things where you wish you knew the other half of the story! Kind of like news ..you only ever hear the first part ...
A mystery indeed. A crayfish sandwich? Hmmm...can't say I've ever seen one of those!
Well that's a "bummer" for sure since it blocks off the wonderful ocean view. Glad you were a "rebel" and parked there anyway to enjoy that delicious looking sandwich.
Love the look of the sandwich - too bad about the fence!
Walking around the Mission last weekend I passed a restaurant with crawfish on the menu. Don't know if they made sandwiches, but if you get a hankerin' sometime, you can look 'em up.
Nice looking lunch.
Well, that is odd ---and quite the mystery. There used to be a meme called "Odd Shots" ---this would have been perfect for it, because it defies understanding. I'm wondering if romantic assignations were going on there and others complained. Apparently there was a rest stop on a local highway near us that became a "lovers' lane." It was well-lit there and everyone could see what was going on in the cars, so it was blocked off about five years ago and never reopened.
The sandwich looks yummy.
Thanks for stopping by to view my fence image.
Too bad about the fence ruining the view. I wonder if there's a strong undertow there.
