East of Springfield Illinois
It started out not so bad of a day but the further west we traveled the worse it got.
We called it a day early in Beardstown, about the only place relatively safe as there were tornado warnings in all the counties around us. Yes, this California couple had uneasy afternoon and night.
No big deal for the locals though.

All the photos are fantastic but the first one really caught my eye. Glad you had a safe place to stop.
eek! yes, i liked the church scene, too.
No big deal for the locals but their houses weren't on wheels and weighing less than a few thousand pounds. Anyway, nice shots. I love storm photos.
Yup, I think that would have made me uneasy too. Tornados seem very scary to me. Of course those in the mid west think our earthquakes are pretty scary too.
Glad you are safe.
I love all these shots but the church is special!
Nice pics John.... we are having lot's of lightning storms in the UK but so far the Open Golf Championship has not suffered too much.
I agree, that first image is very nice.
I think you were very smart to find a safe haven! I like the first shot very much.
Oh!!!!! I so love skies like this! These are simply awesome shots.
