Coalville, Utah
Coalville is a small town east of Salt Lake City, Utah. I doubt they even have 2000 people that call Coalville home. This was a sprawling mural lying beneath Interstate 80. I only found it in desperation of trying to locate a place to buy a cup of coffee. There wasn't one. In trying to turn around and get back up onto the Interstate there is was. It is made entirely of metal standing out in relief. It seems a shame a piece of artwork as wonderful as this is probably only seen by the residents of Coalville and the occasional desperate traveler turning off of the Interstate seeking a cup of coffee.

Its not only a mural. Its also a kind of art more then a mural. Thanks for showing us.
You are not linked to the mural site (yet). This is a very special one, made out of metal.I like it very much.
Is it a mural? Is it sculpture? Whatever it is it's certainly very impressive; I'd forego a cup of coffee in order to see it.
You're correct that it's a shame not many people see this in person. Your photos of it are great!
wow. lots of detail and work in this. very nice find! better than coffee?
So beautiful. I'm glad this little bit of serendipity occurred for you, so we are all the richer for it. It's a shame more folks can't enjoy it, like you said.
LOVE this one, it was destiny you find it and share it with all of us!
It's so wonderful! And the townsfolk are lucky to have it!
This is impressive. I wonder if this was done by a local artist? Love the nuance of color to create depth and more texture. Great find, John. Thanks for contributing to this week's Monday Mural.
