While the time lapse camera was filming the sunrise I walked about a little for one last exploration.
Notice the Joshua Tree above has a little ID badge nailed to it. There were a few others that had them also. They must be monitoring them for some reason.
Trying to play with the morning light backlighting the chollas.
I gathered the time lapse gear and we left Red Rock Canyon for home.
No one was here when we arrived and still all campsites were empty.
All of this was formed by weathering mostly from rain but a little wind erosion also helped.

I love those trees. Magnificient plants.
The backlight shots are great - I have a few ideas for time-lapse this year - I wonder if I will pull them off.

Those landscapes are stunning, beautiful photos. Even nature has to be registrated and controlled it seems.
I think the Joshua trees are amazingly photogenic - the bark, the needles, the shapes of the limbs....
