Day 11

A gallon of water weighs 8.3 pounds.  I can't carry that much extra than I already am.  And they want hikers to carry even more than a gallon?  I never go out into the desert any further than I know that I can get back safely with what I carry with me.  In all my years of hiking only one time was I worried and that was in Big Bend, Texas.  I went too far with too little water.  BIG lesson learned that day!

Tomorrow is election day.  I feel safe where I am.

When I use to hike it was in the mountains, and I carried enough water on me for the day. I would drink what I carried in backpack, but I managed to carry more weight out, rocks! It was tough when I would slip and end up like a turtle on my back. Be safe and I hope you voted already...
