I'm happy we came back to see you.
Our route through Yellowstone was from west to east with only Norris Basin along the way having some of the geysers and hot thermal pools to show what Yellowstone is famous for.
Unfortunately the road leading into the parking lot was blocked off - Parking Full.
We continued on having only a few boiling mud pots to observe.
I bet this is his favorite spot in the winter too, nice and warm.
We stopped along the north shore of Yellowstone Lake.
I had forgotten how big the lake was.
A storm was moving in from the west, time to leave Yellowstone.
If you might be wondering why we didn't stay in Yellowstone, camping is reserved out months in advance. If I can't even park in a lot to see some geysers, no way getting a camp site.
What will visiting our National Parks be like a generation from now?

If campsights are reserved months in advance NOW, I shudder to think.
And then to think that you walk on the surface of one big volcano crater there.
Tourism is growing out of proportions everywhere. Seems the whole world is on the move to visit each other. Here the same.
And they call it "wilderness".
Well, if I want to see Yellowstone, I think I should book up for 2010! It is the same here.... to camp in Canada's Parks in July, you have to reserve the campsite in January.
That sounds like a busy place best out of it
Then again many kids are out of school for summer vacation. Yet going in winter would be impossible. How about fall? Yosemite in fall is good. I'd love to see Yellowstone again, thanks for posting.
It is worrisome to think about, I was at the Grand Canyon in April, lines for busses, lots of people. Can only shudder to think what summer is like.
