Tres Piedras
NW of Taos, New Mexico
I thought I'd go explore the forest on the other side of the road.
Looks like a good way to cross.
Nothing dead inside.
Aww... a little bunny.
I think was was for storage.
But who knows, maybe someone did live in it.
The rock-work walls was very nice.
But the poor roof I think had a tree fall on it.
Off to the side this surely was for food storage.
The doorway was only about four feet high.
A bird flew out.
She had made her nest on the floor in the corner.
I hope no varmints come in and get the babies.

Someone went to a lot of trouble to build such solid walls. Food storage looks about right - isn't that some sort of insulation layer showing in photo #5 ?
I wonder how long ago those buildings were created. Obviously meant to last, being built out of stone.
If you happen to go through Taos, be sure to stop at the "Coffee Spot" for breakfast.
My son Greg and his girlfriend Ren, run the establishment and have is filled with their art. I think you would like it.

I like your photo of the rabbit, it's nicely framed.
