Ohio
Lake Erie was different from Lake Michigan and Superior. First of all the water was warmer, almost like bath water. Not as refreshing as was Lake Michigan. Also I walked out close to 100 yards and the water was only up to my waist. But hey, I can say I swam in Lake Erie.
Later in the day by the nearby marina I saw this sign, after my dip in the waters.
Well, that's just nice.
In case you are wondering, I did consider going to see Lake Huron but the prospect of driving across the state of Michigan wasn't all the appealing so I didn't. Maybe some other time. Also, I have no plan to go see Lake Ontario at this time. We spent the entire afternoon here as there was a nice breeze and the temperature and humidity was not as oppressive as inland.
Some of the locals.
You guys are paddling about in toilet water you know.
A brief look on Wikipedia revealed that Lake Erie has quite a few ongoing issues with it.

I once had to learn the names of these lakes at school, shouldn't know now why we had to. A shame they put the wastewater in here.
I'd rather not think about why the water was warmer.
Don't know if you still look at my blog but today's concerns a trip on Beans' Boats.
