Our New Homestead

Sisters, Oregon

With errands done in Bend we headed northwest towards the town of Sisters (pop. 2700) so named for the three high snow-capped volcanic peaks nearby.  It is a nice little town with lots of shops and galleries for the tourist.  But our interest lay in the free dispersed camping just outside of town in the Deschutes National Forest.

It was a tight crooked road with tree branches scraping the sides and top of the RV at times.  I can't imagine pulling a trailer or driving a big RV around through here.  I parked in a clearing then walked on up ahead scouting out the road not wanting to get into a "situation" as I have in times past.  Ahead lay a little cul-de-sac off the track and there we moved in with the cab in the shade and the hind end with the solar panels in the sun.  This should do us for awhile.  Haven't seen anyone else around...yet.
