Occasionally I see dog prints in the dust filled road out in front of camp. I haven't seen anyone walk or drive by in weeks. No dogs out for a walk. Could this be a coyote? I hear them most every night in the desert. Not once have I heard any here.
I finished off my store-bought roasted chicken. I didn't want the carcass sitting in my trash for a week or so. I took the bones and all for a walk leaving them on top of a stump a few hundred yards behind camp. That night I heard coyote singing for the first time since we've been here. The next morning I checked. The stump was clean. The coyote (more than one) were very happy.

From my life here in urban England your life seems very in-the-wild and interesting.
Thank you. It doesn’t seem as so to me but then all I need to do is take a three hour drive to Portland, Oregon if i really wanted some wild and interesting!
I wonder if they'll be back for more now that they know where you live?!
You've got another much smaller animal going through there too, leaving more recent tracks. Coyotes probably don't get cooked chicken too often. Nice gift.
