Which Way Did They Go?

In the morning after a good night’s sleep I thought I would check the wildfire incident site for northeastern Washington.  Yep, a lot of activity.   I just wasn’t feelin’ Washington anyway.

We headed south for Coeur d’Alene an hour away then hopped onto the interstate.  Ten miles later we turned off for the shoreline of Coeur d’Alene Lake to check out this campground.

There are nineteen sites and most had reserved signs on them. We caught up with camp host lady Elaine in her golf cart.  “You only want one night? I think number thirteen is available.”  She led us there and it was perfect - in the open and good cell service.

I was ready for lunch but Lil’ Miss Impatient had other ideas.

Lunch would have to wait.

Price was $23 (half that for me) which was a bit more than other forest service campgrounds.
This one is run by a concessionaire which may be why.
We are at the ‘You Are Here’ in the center of the map.

Later in the afternoon I went for a walk and finally found Beauty Creek.
As Steve Irwin would say “Ain’t she a beauty?”

Looks like lots of stones that are called river stones, in case you want to edge a flower bed with them...but pretty darn dry!

Sorry you didn't like WA. I have a place in Chelan, WA with an RV parking spot if you come back this way sometime. I just bought an 07 M23J and I'm trying to figure out how to adjust the steering wheel. Please tell me that it doesn't adjust so I don't feel stupid. Other than that, I think I have it mostly figured out. I plan on traveling with 2 cats but it will only be short trips.

Ha!..I too live close to Chelan...
Last year I almost stopped at Beauty Creek, but the reviews stated the trees need trimming or damage could happen.Decided to not take the chance...
If you are headed south the town of Potlatch, Idaho has an excellent city park..

Well I thought it did and I had done so. No lever. Dug out the owner’s manual. Nothing. I must have been thinking of another vehicle I had. So I guess it doesn’t adjust. Gee, you would think...

Yes now that I think of it, it would be tight for a Class A, fifth wheel or long trailer. There were only a couple spots early that would accommodate them. Any other spots I don’t think so. Also once in, they had made the commitment to drive the loop overhanging brush and all.
