Nothing Better Than a Good Roll in the Dirt

Levelland, Texas (pop. 12,652)

Levelland’s free city campground just beyond the south edge of town was only thirty miles away from Littlefield.  Like most places in this area, we’ve been here before.  I had it in my mind what it looked like. I figured we’d continue on to the next town.  Too early to stop.  But when we arrived...oh-oh, not the place I was thinking of.  We are going to have to endure a rainy day on Friday.  My thoughts turned to that this would be a better place to sit out the rain day, than the next one on down the line.
The next place in Brownfield can be more congested, having to be too close to your neighbor.
This is better.

And so, here we set up camp.
Look who else is here.  See the shiny back end of the trailer?
Yep, Silver Streak left a day before us and here they are.

I love all your posts (and am enjoying your books) but those photos of Beans in the dirt brought tears of delight. Nothing happier than a cat rolling in dirt.

Enjoy your rainy day and your dirty cat!

I think it's neat that you met up with Silver Streak again. Has that ever happened before, that you meet up with people you've met up with at other times and places?

At least cats don't roll in smelly carcasses like dogs do! Cats are such pristine pets, and so it must be just as clean dirt for them to choose it! Cool to see the same trailer again...the guy who hung up that bird house.

I'm wondering if another bird house will show up? Maybe you'll get to chat with them. Neighbors for the day. I'd love to hear more about that trailer too. In Great Britain they call trailers caravans. Not sure what they would call your rig. Mobile caravan? Do you ever enjoy the rain just because of it's rarity in AZ? I know I LOVE it in NM. Not long gloomy rainy days like we had in Washington though. Especially in the woods.

Kathe had the same thought as I did - wonder if Silver Streak will leave another birdhouse? Glad you found a nice place to sit out the rain. Wishing you clear skies!

Some of those little towns in Texas reminded me of the movie, "The Last Picture Show". Not sure where that was filmed, but from your pics, they nailed it. Do you tend to '
'stay' at one spot during the winter or keep moving? I know warmer weather is in the cards. I'm stuck in Ohio, and I hear we're to have a doozy of a winter. Wishing you warm, sunny skies for you and Beans this winter.

Love the photos of Beans. If I didn't know better I'd think the 3rd one was a dog :) Please don't tell her I said that!
